Reality is starting to sink in. I am now about 20 weeks (over halfway) and I am starting to feel the little munchkin. It catches me off guard sometimes. Alex has yet to feel anything. Everytime I put his hand on my belly after I could feel it the baby stops. It's such a neat feeling though. I did receive good news a couple weeks ago that my heart tests came back and things are looking well with the pregnancy, the extra blood and my heart handling it all. I just have to be careful.I go back to the cardiologist again when I am about 7 1/2 months.
We are starting to plan for the nursery. Alex and his brother-in-law put the crib together that was given to me. It goes really good with our wood trim in our house. I was pretty pleased. Now I just have to find other pieces of furniture to go with it. My sister Tammy, my mom and I went to Evansville this past weekend and spent about 3 hours in Babies R Us registering for baby stuff. I was quite overwhelmed, but enjoyed it. I think Alex is gung-ho about painting and getting the nursery ready. We will have to wait until after my baby shower but would like to get it ready as soon as possible before I get to where I can't help much. I am already experiencing a lot of lower back pain.
Next Monday, Alex and I go for my 20 week ultrasound followed by another extensive ultrasound with a high risk obstetrician in Evansville on Tuesday, so we should have lots more pictures to post.
Until next time, we hope everyone has a Happy and Prosperous New Year. We know we have a lot to look forward to.

Bronchitis and Energetic Baby
For the past 3 weeks I have been fighting Bronchitis and being pregnant I was very limited on what medicines I could take. I finally had to go to the doctor and was able to get a 3 day dose of an antibiotic plus take Robitussen for my horrendous cough. Needless to say I was quite miserable for probably two weeks straight!! I just had to fight it out. I am doing much better now though. It's still lingering just a little.
I had my 15 week doctor visit last week and things seem to be going well. As the doctor found the heartbeat, the baby would move. He would find it again and the baby would move again. The baby is swimming around like crazy. I am not feeling anything yet though. My nausea has diminished greatly....still have a few rough moments, but for the most part it is gone. YEAH!!! My pants are starting to get a little tight and uncomfortable. Time to break out the maternity pants I guess.
As I am a planner, Alex and I have started to plan for our nursery. Since we are going to be surprised on the sex of the baby we are going with a neutral theme in the nursery. We have been out searching on what we want to do. After the first of the year I am sure we will hit it hard.

Our Announcement
As most of you know, Alex and I are expecting in May 2009. Some friends of mine started one of these blogs when they were pregnant with their first and since they live out of state, it is such a wonderful tool to stay updated on what is going on with their little one. I liked the idea so much that I thought I would start one as well since we have a lot of friends and family that we don't get to see very often. I will try to post as we have updates with our pregnancy.
I am about 11 1/2 weeks now and ready for the morning sickness to be gone along with all of the tiredness. We had an ultrasound at 6 1/2 weeks in which we got to see the little one and see the heart beat. Everything appeared to be progressing as normal and measuring right on track for a May 21st due date. We went again at 10 1/2 weeks and got to hear the baby's heart beat. So far Dr. Hopf says everything is looking good. I do know that I will for sure have a C-Section, so I am looking at a delivery around 38-39 weeks. This is right around our wedding anniversary and Alex's birthday, but doc is going to try to avoid those two days if at all possible. So far we have chosen not to find out the sex of the baby. We want the surprise.
